A Church for the City

The church runs a community club on the Greenleys estate every Wednesday to bless and build relationship with those who live so close to our church.
Our aim is to help create community by loving and connecting people as we share God’s love. In response, we are seeing God's power coming not just to meet needs but to transform people, restore their dignity and make them into carriers of his love and blessing to others.
The Community Club is all about providing people with what they need, be that friendly conversation over a cuppa, a hot lunch or some company to play games and do arts and crafts with. We also offer quality second-hand clothes, a place for kiddies to play, and we even repair bikes and make them roadworthy again. All for free! Plus we have a welfare officer to assist guests with any universal credit and benefits question, with no prior appointment necessary. We also offer recovery courses specialising in mental health and addiction issues.
We welcome volunteers to do crafts with guests, cook lunch or make drinks, be waiters/waitresses, run our clothes store, and we would love to have those who are CRB checked to help out in our kiddies' corner. Even if you just want to chat and socialise you'd be a valuable part of the team.

New Life Church runs a community club at Unity Park Station every Tuesdays and Wednesdays delivering a service to help restore lives in Milton Keynes, and currently serves around 65 people each week.
The vision is to see God-given transformation for the people of Milton Keynes; from voicelessness, isolation and hopelessness, to stability, community and fullness of life. As Isaiah 61 says, “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”
The community club provides free hot lunches, refreshments, toiletry packs, hairdressing, welfare services and there’s a counsellor for all who need a listening ear. Unity Park Station also serves as a hub to bring people with needs together with different support organisations. This includes groups reaching out to vulnerable migrants and homeless veterans, and UPS partners with MK NHS which offers help to those dealing with suicidal ideation and mental health problems. The service is run primarily by New Life Church volunteers and works alongside the Unity MK Welfare Support Team.
The practical care and unconditional love demonstrated through the community club is leading to more and more homeless and formerly homeless people visiting the church and coming to faith in Jesus.

NLC@UPSWe run a New Life Church at Unity Park Station group twice-a-month on Sunday afternoons, primarily for the homeless and vulnerable in our community. Our time together includes stories of God's goodness, a short time of worship and a short talk following the Bible and Jesus' interactions with everyday people. Many guests who are street homeless have now made professions of faith through this ministry, with some coming to join the church.
